We're Starting to Build for Festool
Short version: NextGen Workshop is now designing and printing accessories for the Festool ecosystem — starting with the track saw and guide rail, and expanding from there. If you run a Festool setup and there's a nagging problem you wish someone would solve, this post is our invitation to hear about it.
Why Festool, and Why Now?
Because we use this stuff, and because the Festool system is so well thought out that the gaps really stand out. Festool builds premium tools with a premium price tag — and when you've invested that much in a track saw and a wall of guide rails, the last thing you want is a workaround that feels like a compromise.
We've spent the last few years making 3D-printed solutions for DeWalt, Milwaukee, Makita, and Bosch — AirTag mounts, plunge-cut bases, organizer brackets, router holders. The same approach that works there (design around a real problem, reinforce with steel where it counts, print it in-house) translates directly to Festool. It was a natural next step.
What's the First Product?
Narrow Stock Rail Supports. When you cut narrow stock with a track saw, there often isn't enough material under the rail to carry the weight of the saw — so the rail flexes or tips mid-cut and your accuracy drops.
Our supports sit under the rail at each end of the cut and take the load straight down to the work surface. What makes ours different: instead of swapping short and long feet to match your material, each support rides on a solid steel rod that locks at any height — one support covers everything up to 2-1/8 in (54 mm) of drop, and the foot folds flat when you're on a flat surface. We've verified the fit on the Festool FS 1400/2, and it works across the FS rail profile.
What Else Is Coming?
That's where you come in. We have a running list, but the best ideas almost always come from the people doing the work. We're looking at problems around guide-rail handling, storage, dust, and repeatable setups — but we'd rather build what you actually need than guess.
